President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, in the presence of Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Dr. Badr Abdel Atty.

At the outset of the meeting, Kuwaiti FM conveyed the greetings of Emir Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the President and Egyptian people.

He highlighted Kuwaiti Emir's successful visit to Egypt in April, which once again demonstrated the strength and depth of the historic ties between the two countries, both at the official and popular levels.

For his part, Sisi reciprocated the greetings and appreciation to his brother, Emir Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, emphasizing the distinguished and close fraternal relations between both brotherly nations.

The meeting discussed efforts to develop bilateral relations in all areas, particularly through the joint committee between the two countries. The 13th session of this committee commenced during the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister’s visit to Cairo. Both sides affirmed their mutual commitment to advancing the committee’s work to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

Additionally, the meeting touched on regional issues, where ways to strengthen joint Arab efforts in facing current challenges were reviewed.

President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s ongoing efforts, in cooperation with Qatar and the United States, to promote opportunities for de-escalation through an immediate ceasefire agreement in Gaza, allowing humanitarian aid to be delivered to the people of Gaza and stopping regional escalation.

In this context, President El-Sisi appreciated Kuwait’s supportive stance on the Palestinian cause.

Furthermore, Kuwaiti FM praised Egypt's pivotal role in efforts to restore stability in the region. Both sides agreed on the necessity for all parties to act responsibly to stop the bloodshed and prevent the conflict from expanding in the region.
