President Sisi, Italy's PM Discuss Cooperation, Regional Stability

On Thursday, Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Italy's Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, had a significant phone conversation, as disclosed by the spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy.

The Italian Prime Minister acknowledged the extraordinary relationship between Italy and Egypt, emphasizing the two nations' dedication to its development and enhancement. Meloni expressed her deep appreciation for President El-Sisi's wise leadership, reaffirming her interest in promoting constructive communication with him. She emphasized the importance of continuing consultations and regular coordination on various matters of mutual interest, exploring regional and international developments, and strengthening cooperative frameworks with Egypt in different sectors.

In response, President El-Sisi conveyed his appreciation for the Italian Prime Minister, stressing the particular importance Egypt places on enhancing strategic cooperation relations between the two countries. He discussed leveraging the extensive prospects in this regard on various fronts, in addition to continuing coordination and consultation with the Italian side on diverse political, security, military, and economic issues of mutual interest. This, he believes, will contribute to preserving security and stability in the Middle East, the Mediterranean basin, and the African continent.
