President Sisi, Iranian Counterpart Discuss Regional De-escalation and Stability

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation Summit, held in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital. The meeting focused on addressing regional challenges, fostering stability, and exploring opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

According to Egypt’s Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the two leaders exchanged views on critical regional developments and efforts to restore peace in the Middle East. President El-Sisi emphasized the urgency of de-escalating tensions in the region, urging all parties to exercise restraint and wisdom to avoid dangerous confrontations that could have severe repercussions for global security and stability.

Discussions also touched on the humanitarian crisis in Palestine, with President El-Sisi outlining Egypt’s efforts to broker a ceasefire and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to affected areas. Both leaders shared their perspectives on the situations in Lebanon and Syria, highlighting the need for unified international efforts to address ongoing challenges in these nations.
