President Sisi Holds Talks with Equatorial Guinean Counterpart over Phone

On Tuesday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted during talks he had over the telephone with President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea keenness on enhancing joint cooperation in numerous areas, especially investment and trade exchange.

According to presidential spokesman Bassam Rady, Sisi also affirmed the special importance he attaches to bilateral consultation, praising the distinguished relations between Egypt and Equatorial Guinea.

The president of Equatorial Guinea lauded the constant development in relations between the two sisterly countries and expressed deep appreciation for Egypt and its people and leadership, Rady said.

 He also voiced hope to further strengthen bilateral ties in a wide range of fields, commending Egypt’s pioneering role in the African continent and its assiduous efforts to fulfill the aspirations of its people for development and prosperity and to boost joint African action, especially with regard to promoting intra-African trade and investments and realizing peace and security in all African countries, the spokesman also said.

The talks took up as well ways to bolster bilateral relations, activate the frameworks of joint cooperation at various levels, increase Egyptian investments in Equatorial Guinea, promote trade exchange and support the sisterly African country in its development process, he added.
