President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today at the Djibouti Presidential Palace with Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh.
The official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the meeting included a bilateral discussion session, followed by an expanded session attended by delegations from both countries.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson, added that the two presidents witnessed the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding, and then held a press conference during which they reviewed the most important points of the discussions.
President El-Sisi said he had extensive discussions with President Guelleh, about the current situation in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region.
In this regard, they emphasized the need to support all efforts to strengthen the pillars of security and stability in Somalia, and to preserve its unity, integrity, and territorial integrity.
President Sisi affirmed that they also discussed the common challenges facing the two countries in the Red Sea, stressing their rejection of threats to the security of navigation in this vital international trade artery and the need to adhere to the principles and foundations of regional security.
