President Abdel Fattah Sisi congratulated the Coptic Egyptians overseas on Easter, President Sisi expressed in a letter cited by Egypt's embassies and consulates on Thursday.
The President said in the letter that he wished all Christians a happy Easter, and family times. In addition, he expressed his wishes for all Egyptians a successive improvement, flourishment, and progress.
It is worthy to mention that NRIAG announced today that April 25 will mark the Easter holiday, known as Sham El-Nessim, and it will come during Ramadan, on a Monday.
Sham Al Nasim is the first Monday following Resurrection Sunday for the Eastern Orthodox Christians that will be marked on April 24, and the holy prayers for Easter will be headed by Pope Tawadros II on April 23, Saturday.
In the same context, last Saturday, the Holy Week which is known as the Suffering Jesus Christ, started according to the Eastern Orthodox Church calendar with Holy Saturday or Lazarus Saturday.
It was followed by the Palm Sunday which commemorates Jesus Christ’s entering Jerusalem.
Moreover, Thursday, marks Maundy Thursday which Christians celebrate the Last Supper, and the washing of the feet of Jesus’ students, followed by the Holy Friday which commemorates the death of Christ.
