President Sisi Arrives in Sochi

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived this morning in the city of Sochi in Russia, to co-chair Russia-Africa summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Presidency spokesperson Bassam Rady said.

During this visit, President Sisi is scheduled to hold a meeting with his Russian counterpart Putin to discuss ways of enhancing bilateral relations in all fields and aspects, within the framework of the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation agreement signed between the two countries, as well as the close ties between Egypt and Russia, in addition to their keenness to strengthen bilateral cooperation and continue intensive consultation on issues of common interest.

The President will also hold a number of meetings with African leaders participating in Russia-Africa summit, in addition to his participation in Russia-Africa economic forum; it will focus on a number of factors for the development of trade cooperation and economic relations between the Russian Federation and the African continent.

The spokesperson said that the first African-Russian summit will include two plenary sessions, and will issue a final declaration, aiming to support and deepen the distinguished and historic relations between the African continent and Russia, in addition to enhancing consultation between the two sides on ways to address common challenges.
