President Abdel Fattah El Sisi appointed Chancellor Mohamed Shawky Fathy Ismail Ayaad, the President of the Alexandria Court of Appeals, as the new Prosecutor-General, starting from September 19.
Ayad is succeeding Chancellor Hamada El-Sawi, who served in this position since September 2019
During his career, Ayad held the position of the president of the Alexandria Court of Appeal.
He was also a member of the technical office of the Cairo Court of Appeal.
He held various positions as an assistant to the minister of justice for judicial inspection affairs, alongside being an investigative judge in various major roles.
