European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has presented a new initiative to allocate an additional aid package worth nine billion Euros to Ukraine in 2022 against the background of its ongoing conflict with Russia, according to Russia Today.
Von der Leyen added that it was time to think about the reconstruction of Ukraine in the post-hostilities period.
She noted that the European Union (EU) "has a strategic interest in leading these efforts.
She affirmed that the EU will continue to stand by Ukraine, during this war and when they will begin to rebuild ages.
She explained that the issue of Ukraine's reconstruction should include investment and reforms, pledging that the EU will help Ukraine in this way in due course.
