French President Emmanuel Macron will attend the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt this month, French Ambassador to Cairo Marc Baréty confirmed on Friday.
In a statement, the ambassador revealed that Macron will arrive in Egypt on Monday as he is keen to take part in this event.
Baréty added that a senior delegation will also attend COP27, highlighting that France is pleased with Egypt’s hosting of the conference.
The ambassador revealed the importance of this year’s edition after the latest consequences of climate change such as low water levels in rivers, floods, rains, and heat waves.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced, on Wednesday, that he will attend UN Climate Change Conference (COP 27) in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
Sunak said in a statement: "There is no long-term prosperity without action on climate change."
