President El-Sisi: We Look Forward to Coordinating with Germany to Prepare for the Gaza Reconstruction Conference

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of the Federal Republic of Germany, in the presence of Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, and Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs. From the German side, Dr. Dorothee Dinger, State Secretary at the Office of the President, Serap Güler, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Wolfgang Dold, Director General for Foreign Relations at the Presidency, and Ambassador Jürgen Schulz, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cairo, were also present.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that President El-Sisi welcomed the German President to Egypt, expressing his deep appreciation for his participation in the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum and commending his acceptance of the invitation, which reflects the depth of the historical relations and close ties that bind Egypt and Germany. For his part, the German President congratulated the Egyptian President and the Egyptian people on the opening of the museum, emphasizing that this cultural achievement reflects the grandeur of Egyptian history and Egypt's established place in the annals of humanity. He also expressed his pride in participating in this prominent cultural event.

The official spokesperson indicated that President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt's commitment to further strengthening its strategic partnership with Germany, particularly in the political, military, and security fields, as well as in economic and investment cooperation, and in the education and transportation sectors, with a focus on manufacturing and energy, including new and renewable energy. The President also stressed the importance of building upon the momentum generated by the first Egyptian-European Summit, which he considered a pivotal milestone in the growing cooperation between Egypt and the European Union.

The spokesperson added that the meeting also addressed ways to cooperate in combating illegal migration and regulating the movement of labor. Furthermore, the two sides discussed updates on several joint infrastructure projects, agreeing to continue coordination and joint efforts to meet the aspirations of both nations for sustainable development and shared prosperity.

The official spokesperson stated that the meeting included an exchange of views on regional developments, with the President emphasizing the need to build upon the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, solidify the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, ensure the flow of humanitarian aid, and expedite the reconstruction process.

President El-Sisi expressed Egypt's eagerness for close coordination with Germany in preparation for the International Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza, scheduled for November 2025.
