President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of his participation in the second Africa-Russia Summit, Egypt's Presidency announced on Wednesday.
President El Sisi will head to Russia's St. Petersburg to participate in the activities of the summit.
The spokesperson of the Egyptian Presidency Counsellor Ahmed Fahmy said that the Africa-Russia Summit was established in 2019, during the run of Egypt as the president of the African Union.
Fahmy added that the first summit was held in Russia's Sochi for deepening the historical and special tiles between Russia and the African countries.
Moreover, both sides targeted enhancing the mutual consultation around facing mutual challenges and issues.
The official highlighted that the forthcoming summit will witness two general sessions and closing remarks, in addition, various economic, trade, and cultural activities will take place on the sidelines of the summit, including the economic and humanitarian forum.
Fahmy continued that the meeting between President El Sisi, and President Putin will discuss enhancing the mutual ties between both countries and their keenness in strengthening the bilateral cooperation and consultation for various international and regional common-interest issues.
