On Tuesday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received the Head of the US Central Intelligence Agency William Burns in the presence of the Egyptian General Intelligence Services Abbas Kamel.
The meeting asserted the strong and strategic ties between Egypt and the US, and the vital role of maintaining the stability and security of the Middle East region, in addition to the mutual keenness of enhancing the bilateral ties in various fields, especially in security and intelligence, according to the Presidency Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy.
The target of these efforts is restoring and supporting the stability in the region, and facing all challenges.
Fahmy highlighted that the meeting discussed various common-interest global and regional issues, specifically the situation in Gaza.
President El Sisi clarified Egypt's stand towards the situation in Gaza, asserting the necessity of a ceasefire in the strip to save and protect civilians, and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
On his side, Burns asserted his keenness to continue the coordination with Egypt to reach a solution for the current crisis.
