President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received the Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni, on Saturday, on the sidelines of the activities of the COP28 in Dubai.
The Spokesperson of the Presidency Ahmed Fahmy said that both sides asserted their keenness to enhance the bilateral ties on all levels and make use of the wide horizons of their mutual ties, in addition, they agreed upon strengthening the coordination and consultation for various mutual interest issues which assist in preserving the stability and security in the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
Fahmy added that the meeting witnessed the exchange of points of view regarding various international, and regional issues, including the developments in Gaza.
Moreover, Meloni thanked Egypt for its vital and outstanding role in pushing for peace in the region which was symbolized with the Cairo Summit for Peace.
On his side, President El Sisi reviewed the efforts of Egypt to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid to the strip, asserting the necessity of the international community's role to stop the escalations by reviving the road towards the process of peace.
