President El Sisi Discuss Developments in Gaza with Greek FM

On Wednesday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received the Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, in the presence of the Foreign Ministry Sameh Shoukry.

Gerapetritis asserted Greece's keenness to enhance the relationships with Egypt in all fields which was hailed by President El Sisi, the Presidency Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy said.

Fahmy added that the President asserted strategic relationships between both countries, praising the coordination and cooperation between Egypt and Greece on a bilateral level, and trilateral level with Cyprus.

The Presidency Spokesperson highlighted that the meeting discussed the escalating tensions in the Middle East, in addition, President El Sisi warned of the military escalation in the region in several parts, asserting the necessity of the ceasefire in Gaza which will help in de-escalating the tensions.

He also pointed out the importance of delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza to relieve the humanitarian crisis in the strip.

Moreover, President El Sisi asserted that Egypt would make all efforts to support the people in Gaza and relieve the situation.

On his side, the Greek Foreign Minister expressed his agreement with the situation of Egypt, underscoring that the ongoing crisis proved the importance of Egypt as a key player for the stability in the region.

He also expressed that both sides agreed on the importance of pushing for a fair and sustainable solution for the Palestinian crisis as it is the central issue in the region and the way for the region's stability and security.
