President Sisi Congratulates Russia's Putin on Reelection, Discusses Gaza and Bilateral Ties

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made a congratulatory phone call today to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of his reelection for a new presidential term.

During the talks, President el-Sisi extended his best wishes for success to President Putin and further prosperity and progress to the friendly Russian people.

In response, President Putin appreciated this gesture, praising the depth and strength of the relations between Egypt and Russia. Both leaders expressed their continued commitment to enhancing these ties and discussed ways to bolster their cooperation across various domains.

The conversation also covered international and regional situations, with a special focus on the situation in the Gaza Strip. President el-Sisi outlined Egypt's efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire, acknowledging Russia's supportive stance on the Palestinian issue.

President Putin, in turn, commended Egypt's ongoing efforts on both the political and humanitarian fronts, affirming the shared vision between the two countries on the importance of halting hostilities and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid. He also emphasized the priority of a two-state solution to restore peace and security in the region.
