President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that the convening of the Aswan Forum this year, under the theme "A World in Change and a Continent in Motion: Africa's Progress in the Face of Global Transformations," clearly reflects that Africa is at the heart of the global system's difficult challenges. Africa has an opportunity to be at the forefront of efforts to restore the cohesion and credibility of the global system and strengthen the role of international organizations in a more inclusive and transparent manner.
During his speech at the Aswan Forum for Peace and Development, President El-Sisi added: "Despite the difficult international challenges and circumstances, Africa boasts enormous potential, resources, and human wealth, and has already taken significant steps towards leveraging these capabilities to support development in its countries. The launch of the Continental Free Trade Agreement is a prominent example of this, as it is a fundamental pillar for implementing the African Development Agenda 2063."
President El-Sisi said: "Based on the above, and based on a comprehensive vision of cooperation to address challenges, this year's edition of the forum highlights the most prominent existing and emerging security challenges in Africa and the most successful ways to address them, in addition to post-conflict reconstruction and development efforts, an issue I am honored to lead within the African Union, and to support the full implementation of the updated African Union policy within the framework of achieving sustainable peace and development. The forum will also address topics of investment in infrastructure and strategic corridors, and the role of the private sector and innovative partnerships in achieving development goals."
