Massive explosions were heard over the Bahraini capital, Manama, early Sunday morning, signaling a sharp escalation in regional tensions. The blasts occurred as Iranian forces continue their retaliatory strikes across the Gulf following recent joint U.S.-Israeli military operations against Iran.

Bahraini defense officials confirmed the interception of a significant number of projectiles. According to official statements and reports from Agence France-Presse (AFP), Bahrain has successfully intercepted 125 missiles and 203 drones since the onset of the current Iranian offensive. Despite these interceptions, the conflict has turned deadly; two people have been killed within the Kingdom of Bahrain, while 24 others have lost their lives in neighboring Gulf states.

The wave of instability is not limited to Bahrain. On Saturday evening, a separate drone attack targeted the Baghdad Airport complex in Iraq, which houses a military base and a U.S. diplomatic center. Security sources reported that three drones targeted "Victory Base." One drone reportedly crashed near the base perimeter, sparking a fire, while another impacted the surrounding area, causing damage to storage facilities and caravans outside the primary fence.

As the shadow of war widens across the Middle East, the international community is watching the Gulf closely. The recent strikes highlight a volatile new chapter in the confrontation between Iran and the U.S.-Israeli alliance, leaving major cities like Manama on the front lines of a growing aerial conflict.
