Russian authorities managed on Thursday to kill three militants who were plotting a terrorist attack during an anti-terrorism operation in Yekaterinburg, according to the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAK).
"The (Federal Security Service) FSB of Russia prevented preparations for a terrorist attack. An anti-terrorism operation was held in Yekaterinburg’s Chkalov region," NAK said.
"As a result of the operation, three militants involved in terrorist activities, have been killed," it added.
On the other hand, the regional FSB office announced that the anti-terrorism operation regime has been lifted, noting that special measures and temporary restrictions, imposed in the area for the period of the anti-terrorism operation, have been removed.
In addition, the NAK revealed that weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices had been discovered on site.
