Portugal is currently suffering from a terrible series of wildfires, the Independent reported on Tuesday.
According to media reports, firefighters are fighting about 100 wildfires across Portugal.
This series of fires is forcing the government for evacuating thousand of people. Until now, the authorities didn't announce accurate figures about the number of people who will be evacuated.
Reports added that three people are killed due to the fires.
Portuguese state broadcaster RTP showed images of the destroyed and burnt houses in the area of Castro de Aire.
A civilian was killed from the fires and another from cardiac arrest from the fires that broke out over the weekend, according to civil protection authorities.
The district of Aveiro, south of the northern city of Porto, is among the cities that suffers badly from the wildfires. A firefighter died from an unspecified illness while on duty.
Portuguese Prime Minister Luís Montenegro said on Monday that the firefighter was “victim of a sudden illness” and offered his condolences to his family, friends and co-workers.
