Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, stated that the arrival of the New Year brings renewed vision and hope, noting that "a beginning is half the work."

He emphasized that His Excellency the President’s visit to the Cathedral during Christmas celebrations has become a "beautiful tradition" with significant meaning, marking a fresh start for all Egyptians and affirming that the President’s greetings extend beyond the Coptic community to encompass all citizens through the Cathedral and the New Administrative Capital.

Pope Tawadros II also pointed out that the regulations governing church construction remained stagnant for many years, dating back to Ottoman rule in Egypt.

This lasted until the issuance of the Church Construction Law in 2016, which he described as a vital step the state had needed for decades.

He noted that the law underwent extensive discussions before being approved by the House of Representatives, and its implementation has yielded tangible positive results across many regions.

The Pope extended his congratulations for the New Year to the President and the Egyptian people.

These remarks were featured in a video published by the Cabinet Media Center on its social media platforms, titled: "Christmas: An Embodiment of National Unity and a True Reflection of the Spirit of Citizenship."
