Pope Leo XIV of the Vatican expressed his solidarity with the youth of Gaza, who are suffering due to the ongoing war in the region, as well as with the young people of Ukraine amid the escalating conflict.
He called on the youth to contribute to building a better world.
During the largest event since his appointmen, attended by over one million young people on Sunday, the Pope urged the youth to seek a world where conflicts are resolved through dialogue rather than weapons.
He said, “Seek the truth with passion; build a more humane world,” emphasizing that friendship could be a path to peace.
The event brought together more than one million Catholic youth from around the world in Tor Vergata, Rome, to celebrate the Youth Jubilee.
