Pope Francis voiced his concern on Wednesday about total Israeli siege inposed on Gaza Strip, calling for the release of prisoners held by Palestinian factions.
Pope Francis said that he feels "deep concern about the total blockade that the Palestinians live under in the Gaza Strip, where many innocent victims have also fallen."
"I call for the immediate release of the prisoners," he added, stressing that "the Middle East does not need war, but peace: a peace based on justice, dialogue, and the courage of brotherhood."
