Pope Francis has urged local authorities to allow humanitarian organizations access to areas affected by the cyclone that devastated parts of Burma and Bangladesh two weeks ago.
"I appeal to those in charge to facilitate the arrival of humanitarian aid," the pope said.
On May 14, Burma and neighboring Bangladesh suffered a cyclone, with winds of 195 kilometers per hour.
According to the ruling military council, Cyclone Mocha killed 148 people in Burma, most of them from the Rohingya minority in western Rakhine state, where a state of natural disaster was declared.
