On Friday, the Vatican officially announced that Pope Francis will not attend the Easter celebrations on April 20.
This will be the first time for Pope Francis II to be absent from the rituals of Easter due to his illness.
The Pope is still recovering from pneumonia. Therefore, the Vatican adjusted the plans of the Easter mass.
The Argentine newspaper Infobae reported that Secretary of State Pietro Parolin will attend the Easter Mass, while the Dean of the College of Cardinals, Giovanni Battista Re, will head the Mass on April 20.
The newspaper added that Parolin will read the Pope’s Easter message.
