Pope Francis stressed the importance of the ceasefire in Gaza and demanded that humanitarian aid reach the war-weary residents of Gaza, according to the Italian newspaper il Giornale.
Pope Francis said: “I encourage the international community to act urgently and by all means to help the Palestinians exhausted by the Gaza war,” adding, “Humanitarian aid must be allowed to reach those who need it".
He also thanked Jordan, for hosting an international conference on humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.
