Pope Francis renewed his call for peace in conflict zones around the world, urging an end to attacks targeting civilians.
In a speech delivered on Sunday, excerpts of which were reported by the Italian news agency ANSA, the Pope said, "Let us continue to pray for peace in Ukraine, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Myanmar, and Sudan," expressing hope that the international community would act decisively to ensure respect for humanitarian law in these conflicts.
The Pope called for a halt to strikes targeting civilians, schools, hospitals, and workplaces, stating, "War is always a defeat."
