Pope Francis renewed his call for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of hostages, and the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to the war-torn region.
This appeal came during the Pope's traditional Easter message, delivered by one of his aides on Sunday as he sat in his wheelchair on the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica.
In his address, as reported by Vatican News, the Pope said: "I am thinking of the people of Gaza, where the ongoing terrible conflict continues to bring death and destruction, creating a tragic and deplorable humanitarian situation."
Pope Francis also urged the international community to assist the Palestinian people, who are yearning for a future filled with peace.
