Pope Francis renewed his call for an end to the war in Ukraine today, Sunday, while receiving treatment in a hospital in Rome.
In the text of his weekly sermon, published today and reported by Sky News, the Pope expressed his hope that the "gift of peace" would reach war-torn Ukraine. He also called for efforts to achieve peace in Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Myanmar, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The 88-year-old Pontiff has been hospitalized at Gemelli Hospital in Rome since February 14, receiving treatment for a severe case of pneumonia.
