Pope Francis called for international solidarity with the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, appealing to "everyone to show solidarity with the war-torn lands," according to Russia Today.
The Pope stressed the need to remain "close, through prayer and concrete support to those affected by the earthquake that struck Syria and Turkey."
The Pope said: "I was seeing pictures of the disaster, pictures of the pain of the two peoples who are suffering from the earthquake. Let us pray for them, let us not forget that... Let us think of what we can do for them.
