US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced on Tuesday evening, that the state department has begun the transition process of power after the General Service Administration (GSA) informed US president-elect, Joe Biden, he could formally begin the hand-over process.
In a press statement to 'Fox News', Pompeo said, "Today we began the process to see what the GSA's decision was, and will do everything that's required by law. We'll make this work."
US top diplomat added that he has not yet contacted Antony Blinken, Biden's candidate for Secretary of State.
It is worth mentioning that, two days ago, the head of the General Services Administration (GSA) Emily Murphy announced the Trump’s administration will begin the transfer of power to President-elect Biden.
In a written letter, Murphy explained that the federal government agencies will get ready for receiving Biden‘s team members.
Trump still rejects to accept the fact of Biden’s victory, in addition, he refuses to cooperate with the Biden administration, however, he approved the transfer of power move.
