Western media reported that several human rights organizations, including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, wrote a letter to US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, calling for an end to US aid to Israel.
The letter stated, according to these outlets: “Human rights organizations call on the Pentagon to categorically oppose attacks on civilians, refuse to deprive the residents of the Gaza Strip of humanitarian aid, and withdraw American aid provided to Israel.”
The letter continued: “Human rights activists call on America to oppose the displacement of residents in the Gaza Strip and to use the so-called safe zones.”
The letter added: “The application of US law regarding assistance to Israel should also result in the refusal to provide some assistance, despite documented and credible allegations that Israeli security forces have committed serious human rights violations.”
Politico, a US daily newspaper, reported that among the signatories of the letter were the American branches of Save the Children, the Norwegian Refugee Council, the Center for Victims of Torture, and other organizations.
