Ashraf Singer, a professor of political science, said Sunday that holding the parliamentary elections now comes at a time when the Egyptian citizen is fully convinced of the personality of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in managing the political and economic scene of the Egyptian state.
Singer added during a telephone interview in a private coverage on the state-owned Channel 1 on Sunday that President Sisi seeks to free the Egyptian citizen to choose who will represent him in the legislative process, explaining that citizens are considered partners in building the country.
He added that the lower and upper houses of the parliament should play a role, in collaboration with the president, pointing out that the love of homeland is found in the conscience of every Egyptian.
The political expert stressed that the voter is looking for a person who can provide him with assistance in building legislation that will have a role in building and advancing the state, pointing out that the Egyptians are distracted due to the numerous candidates running for the elections.
“Hence, every candidate should interact with the citizen in order to build a political history in his constituency,” Singer added.
