Egypt’s Interior Ministry said Saturday that it has put final touches of Eid Al-Adha security plan to secure citizens’ celebrations and vital facilities during Eid days in all of the country’s governorates.

The ministry noted that all police and security forces are placed on high alert to foil any attempt to mar Egyptians’ celebrations during the feast.

The Eid’s preparations include securing entertainment venues, such as cinemas, theatres, malls as well as public parks.

Furthermore, teams of bomb disposal squads and security convoys will be available in overcrowded malls, touristic, and entertainment areas to prevent any terrorist attacks according to the ministry.

Additionally, major mosques and large prayer areas are also to be secured in coordination with the Ministry of Awqaf “Endowments”.

Eid Al-Adha is the second Islamic feast and the most important one which is celebrated by Muslims around the world annually. Muslims sacrifice animals such as lambs, goats, and cows.

Egyptian Muslim families usually gather to feast and exchange congratulations. They typically spend time celebrating in public places around the country.

It is noteworthy that over two million Muslim pilgrims from all over the world have gathered earlier today to ascend Mount Arafat, the main ritual of Hajj and one of the world’s largest annual gatherings.

A white-sea of worshipers scaled the rocky hill southeast of the holy city of Mecca for a day of prayers, supplicating the Almighty and asking Him for forgiveness and mercy until the sun sets..

Main rituals of the Hajj will be done in Arafat today as the pilgrims moved towards the place after staying the night in Mina. Waqoof (stay) in Arafat is performed from Zuhar to sunset on the 9th of Zil-Hajj of Islamic year.
