A police officer and an armed suspect were injured during a confrontation between both in the Belmont area, Bronx, New York City, on Tuesday.
According to authorities that the wounded officer caught a teen with a gun in Lorillard Place in the Belmont area, and both parties were escalated together before the gun was off and the officer and the suspect teen were injured.
Both were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital to be treated, in addition, the wounds were not life-threatening ones.
Later on, authorities asserted that the shot bullet did not come out from the officer's gun, but it belonged to the suspect's weapon as it was recovered at the accident's scene.
An eyewitness told ABC 7: "I hear the shooting and all these police coming here -- and it was dangerous and then we came here and we confirmed that they shot a police."
No confirmed data was released about the medical condition of the suspect, however, New York Police Department Spokesperson revealed that an investigation has been already conducted.
