Ivana Trump, the ex-wife of former U.S. President Donald Trump died from blunt force injuries to her torso that she suffered after an accidental fall, New York City’s chief medical examiner revealed.
The NYC police are investigating if Ivana fell down the stairs of her Manhattan apartment accidentally or did someone forced her. An official pointed out that there were no signs of entry into the house.
A spokesperson for the NYC Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed reports that Ivana apparently fell inadvertently and was found at the bottom of her home’s stairs.
US health officials consider falls to be the leading cause of injury-related death for people who are 65 years of age or older. About 64 out of 100,000 elderly people die as a result of accidental falls, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Ivana passed away Thursday afternoon at her apartment. Police responded to a call of a person in cardiac arrest at 10 East 64th Street on the Upper East Side at 12:40 p.m.
The Trump family announced the death news in an official statement: “Our mother was an incredible woman — a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend.”
“Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination,” the statement read. “She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children, and ten grandchildren.”
In a statement on his platform Truth Social, Trump remembered his ex-partner as a “wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life.”
