Polish President Andrzej Duda said during the Economic Forum in Davos that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is asking for security guarantees from North Atlantic Treaty Organization ( NATO).

Duda said: "We talked about the future NATO summit in Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania and Vladimir Zelensky told us that we can assure him that the doors of NATO are still open for Ukraine and that we support Ukraine's future membership in NATO.

The Polish president added that his Ukrainian counterpart said, "Thank you guys, I am grateful, but honestly, I don't want to hear the same story again, I need guarantees." I can understand that now you cannot agree to full membership in NATO because we are at war, based on Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, this is impossible, but I need guarantees for my country, I need security guarantees, please talk to NATO members, because we need to her immediately."

He pointed out that Zelensky wanted to obtain guarantees from "NATO" during the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius.
