Poland’s President Andrzej Duda criticized the fact that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron continue to hold conversations with Russian President Vladimir despite Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

“I am amazed at all the conversations that are being held with Putin, especially with Chancellor Scholz, and President Emmanuel Macron. These negotiations lead to nothing,” Duda said in an interview with the German newspaper Bild, which was published on YouTube on Wednesday.

The Polish president indicated that holding conversations with Putin has the effect of “a kind of legitimation for someone who is responsible for the crimes committed by the Russian army in Ukraine.”

Duda noted that the Russian president alone is responsible for sending his army to Ukraine, adding that he is supported by the commanders of the troops.

He considered that the situation is similar to the situation of Adolf Hitler in WWII.

Previously the president of Poland criticized the German authorities, who, according to him, did not keep their promise, given to Poland – to supply tanks to replace those that Warsaw provided to Ukraine from its own reserves.

“They didn’t deliver on that promise and, frankly, we’re very disappointed about that,” Duda said in an interview with the German newspaper Die Welt.

According to the agreement, the Eastern European countries agreed to send Soviet-made tanks to Ukraine, which is defending itself from the Russian invasion, and receive more modern military equipment from Germany for them.
