Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister, arrived on Sunday at the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Abbassia to congratulate Pope Tawadros II on Christmas.
Meanwhile, the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in the New Administrative Capital announced arrangements for the Christmas Mass, outlining a set of regulations and procedures aimed at ensuring smooth entry and maintaining a safe environment for worshippers.
The cathedral confirmed that participation in the Christmas prayers is open to all members of the Coptic Orthodox Church, whether from Greater Cairo (Cairo, Giza, and Qalyubia) or from dioceses across the country.
Participants are required to submit their personal data in advance through their respective churches, the Office of the Patriarchal Vicar in Cairo at the Abbassia Cathedral, or the General Secretariat of the Church Scouts.
The cathedral noted that there is no maximum limit on the number of attendees from each church.
Regarding access and timing, the cathedral’s doors will open on Friday, January 6, at 5:00 p.m., with the Christmas Mass scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
Attendees are urged to arrive before 6:00 p.m. to facilitate entry and must bring their original national ID card along with the original stamped invitation.
The cathedral also stated that access will be available via private vehicles or buses organized by churches.
Designated external parking areas have been prepared, while details regarding entry gates and internal routes to seating areas will be announced at a later time.
