PM, Turkish Commerce Minister Discuss Ways to Boost Investments

Prime Minister (PM) Mostafa Madbouly met with Turkish Trade Minister Dr. Omer Bolat on Saturday, to discuss ways to boost trade and investment relations between Cairo and Ankara.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir, Turkish Ambassador to Egypt Saleh Motloshon, and Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for Turkish Affairs Mohamed Zazou.

At the outset of the meeting, Madbouly referred to the joint efforts between the Egyptian and Turkish sides to strengthen trade and investment ties.

He added that the Egyptian government is interested in promoting trade and investment cooperation with Turkey.

In this context, PM pointed out to the recent visit of Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, to Turkey to discuss ways to move forward in this path.

Furthermore, Madbouly confirmed his welcome of Turkish investments in Egypt, saying: "We are always keen to continue the distinguished economic relations with Turkey, and we encourage the Egyptian private sector to cooperate with its Turkish counterpart."

In this regard, he shedlight on his previous meeting with representatives of a large number of Turkish companies to discuss expanding their investment portfolio in Egypt.

For his part, Turkish Trade Minister expressed his appreciation for the meeting with Madbouly, noting that he is visiting Egypt with a delegation of 170 representatives from the private sector.

He also expressed his appreciation for the visit of Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, to Turkey in August last year.

Bolat expressed his happiness to participate today in the 2nd edition of the annual international industry forum and exhibition.

He also pointed out that the mutual visits are likely to contribute to the promotion of trade relations between the two countries, in light of their positive impact on various business circles, pointing out to the meetings that were held with representatives of the private sector from both sides to review the available opportunities.
