To attend the 5th United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday morning. He will "share Pakistan's view on the socio-economic challenges confronting LDCs in Asia and Africa" at the conference.

He tweeted upon his arrival in Doha: “Just reached Doha, Qatar on the invitation of my brother HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar to attend the 5th UN conference on LDCs.”

The premier added that post-pandemic, geo-strategic disruption in the food and energy supply networks, and climate change have all negatively impacted LDCs, making the aforementioned nations vulnerable.

Shehbaz argued that placing charity at the forefront of public policy would benefit LDCs.

The premier was welcomed by representatives of the Gulf state upon his arrival in Doha for a "two-day tour," according to a video posted by the PM's Office (PMO). Ahsan Iqbal, the minister of planning and development, can also be seen walking alongside him.
