Prime Minister (PM) Dr. Mostafa Madbouly extended his congratulations to His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, on the occasion of Christmas.
The visit took place this evening at the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Abbasiya, in the presence of Hassan Abdallah, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt.
During the meeting, PM conveyed heartfelt congratulations to His Holiness Pope Tawadros II and all Egyptian Coptic citizens on this joyous occasion.
"It is a great honor to be here today at the cathedral, celebrating Christmas with all our Coptic brothers and sisters. We pray to God Almighty for a prosperous year, to keep our beloved homeland safe from all harm, and to preserve the blessings of security and stability in our great nation, Egypt. May this occasion bring Your Holiness good health and continued success," Madbouly said to Pope Tawadros.
In response, Pope Tawadros II thanked PM for his visit and well wishes, expressing gratitude and appreciation for Madbouly’s diligent efforts in overseeing various national projects, particularly in the industrial sector, including the remarkable progress seen in textile factories.
The Pope prayed for blessings upon all endeavors benefiting the Egyptian people and emphasized the importance of the peace and security Egypt enjoys. He added, "The gift of peace and security in Egypt is a great blessing."
Attendees at the meeting also expressed their gratitude to the government for its efforts across various sectors, particularly in healthcare and social services, despite the significant challenges facing the Egyptian state.
