Egypt's Prime Minister (PM) Dr. Mostafa Madbouli said on Sunday that Egypt faced many challenges during the 1920s, and entered into a series of wars that hindered its development process.
In his word during the 32nd Intellectual Seminar of Armed Forces, the primer added that Egypt achieved a good and positive growth rate despite the coronavirus pandemic crisis.
Moreover, Madbouli added that overpopulation is one of the most important challenges facing the development process in Egypt, noting that every 13.5 seconds a new baby is born in Egypt.
"Egypt's population doubled in 2020 by 400%," the PM clarified, stressing that this increase has had its negative repercussions.
Madbouli also added that Egypt has spent more than EGP 4 trillion to implement economic reform program and achieve development since 2014.
"The cost of unsafe and unplanned slums' development amounted to EGP 424 billion," he continued.
