PM Meets German Recycling Co. Representatives

BERLIN, Jan. 11 (SEE)- Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli held on Friday a meeting with representatives of 3 German recycling companies.

The head of Berliner Stadtreinigung (BSR), Tanja Wielgoß said that the company recycles around 8 million tons of solid waste.

Germany's largest municipal waste management company supplies 63,000 households with electricity and 31,000 others with heating through the burning of non-recyclable domestic waste.

Up to 289,000 tonnes of refuse are processed into substitute fuel in two mechanical-physical stabilization plants.

Madbouli praised the German companies, hoping to transfer the technology to Egypt.

On their part, the triplet announced their readiness to invest in the field of waste recycling in Egypt.

The ministry's of environment, military production, and local development are expected to pay a visit to Germany to discuss possible cooperation in the upcoming 10 days.

Egypt's Ambassador to Berlin Badr Abdel Aati was among the attendees.
