Egypt's Prime Minister (PM) Moustafa Madbouly left Cairo on Saturday for Manama to offer condolences over the death of Bahrain's long-serving Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

Madbouly is accompanied by Finance, Communications, Housing, Civil Aviation Ministers as well as the Head of the General Investment Authority (GIA).

During the visit, the premier will convey Egypt's heartfelt condolences on behalf of the President, government, and people, to the leadership of Bahrain.

It is worth mentioning that, Bahrain's Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the world's longest-serving prime minister whose time in office spanned the Persian Gulf kingdom's independence in 1971 to its normalization of ties with Israel this year, passed away last Wednesday. He was 84.

He died at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in the U.S., according to the royal court.
