PM Heads Supreme Committee for Coronavirus Crisis Management

The Supreme Committee for the Management of the Coronavirus Crisis ( SCMCC) agreed, during its meeting this evening, headed by Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and in the presence of a number of ministers and top officials, to extend the half-year vacation for a week, provided that the study will resume in the second semester.

The SCMCC also decided to conduct the postponed exams from the first semester.

The student will take the exams of the first semester according to the announced schedules, as well as in accordance with the regulations governing studies in the two systems of the Ministries of Education and Higher Education.

Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, will announce the details and mechanism of conducting exams for the first semester, as well as the mechanism for resuming studies in the second semester later this year.

Also, during the meeting, it was agreed to postpone all sports competitions for juniors until April 1, 2021, and this applies to all junior competitions in sports federations.

But the SCMCC decided that sports training to continue in clubs, and the activities of this sector do not stop there and all other sports institutions, in order to ensure that training of our children continues with maintaining their safety despite the crisis of Coronavirus.  These regulations came within the framework of the request submitted by the Egyptian Football Association in this regard to postponing the local competitions.

During the meeting, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, reviewed the position of oxygen availability in light of the Corona pandemic.

She stressed that the situation in hospitals is stable with regard to the supply of liquid oxygen, and a strategic stock of more than one million and 160 thousand liters has been provided.
