PM: Egypt Interested in Holding Joint Committee Meeting with Jordan

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli hailed on Saturday the deeply-rooted ties binding Egypt and Jordan, crowned by high-level coordination between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and King Abdullah II, and their permanent directives to activate cooperation between the two countries.

Charing a joint meeting gathering Egyptian and Jordanian delegations in Cairo, Madbouli said Cairo is looking forward to holding a meeting of the joint committee with Amman, previously delayed due to the circumstances of coronavirus pandemic and the ministerial reshuffle in Jordan.

He also stressed the importance of beefing up bilateral cooperation on the energy sector, as well as the tripartite accession of Iraq, whether regarding the electrical connection or in the field of oil and gas.

In turn, Jordanian Minister of Agriculture Mohammad Daoudiyeh said his country's delegation is entrusted with implementing the mandates of King Abdullah II to boost cooperation with Egypt in the interest of the two brotherly countries and peoples.

The Jordanian ministerial delegation is currently paying a visit to Cairo to take part in a tripartite meeting with Egypt and Iraq, in implementation of directives of the tripartite summit hosted by the Jordanian capital Amman, to launch joint projects to achieve integration between the three countries, serve development sectors, and positively reflect on the region that is facing great challenges during the current stage.
