Egypt's Prime Minister (PM) Moustafa Madbouli stressed on Sunday that Egypt is facing great challenges and repercussions after Coronavirus pandemic outbreak, including those who are planning to destabilize Egypt's security and stability.
"We do not fear any threats or malicious acts against our homeland," Madbouli added in his word before the parliament's plenary session.
The PM added that Egypt has been affected by the repercussions of this pandemic, noting that the government's preventive plans and measures saved Egypt from the high numbers of infections witnessed by other countries.
Moreover, he pointed out that Egypt has also set plans to contain the negative effects of the virus through via taking all necessary precautionary measures, in accordance with the medical and preventive standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO).
"We are all hopeful that citizens abide by the Health Ministry's precautionary measures to preserve themselves and their homeland," Madbouli noted.
Concerning the imposition of the state of emergency, Madbouli affirmed the parliament’s approval in light of what has been stated in the presidential decree.
In the same context, the PM has reiterated the government's commitment not to use the exceptional measures mentioned in the emergency law, except in the narrowest limits, and to achieve a balance between citizens ’freedom and maintaining security and stability.
On the other hand, the premier offered his deep condolences on martyrdom of 10 security personnel in Ber Al-Abd terrorist attack.
