Prime Minister (PM) Mostafa Madbouly issued a decree on Saturday, granting public sector workers a paid official leave next Thursday, January 27, to mark the anniversary of the 25th January revolution and National Police Day.
Tuesday, 25 January marks the 11th anniversary of the 2011 revolution and It also marks Police Day, which commemorates a battle fought by police forces in 1952 against British occupation forces in Ismailia City.
Previously, the Egyptian government decided to make Thursday an alternative leave for any official holidays which fall in the middle of the week, as a precautionary measure to combat the spread of COVID-19.
