The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development issued a report on the Egyptian government’s efforts to implement green projects during the implementation of the investment plan.
The plan includes green public investments implemented during the past four years and targeted during the fiscal year (22/2023).
These projects play a significant role in implementing the National Climate Change Strategy 2050, in conjunction with the United Nations Climate Summit (COP 27) kicks off in Sharm El Sheikh from November 7-18.
Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, stated that climate change has become an issue that preoccupies all countries of the world, and that Egypt is one of the first countries that sensed the seriousness of this issue.
Jamil Helmy, Assistant Minister for Follow-up Affairs of the Sustainable Development Plan, General Supervisor of " Dignified Life" at the Ministry of Planning, explained that the value of the implemented green public investments amounted to about 144 billion pounds during the fiscal year (21/2022 only), in 7 basic areas, namely (transportation). clean, environmental improvement, agriculture, and irrigation, industry, housing, energy, and education.
